Atalanta play Liverpool, Milan meet Roma – Europa League preview

Atalanta will be up against Premier League giants Liverpool, while AC Milan clash with Roma in the Europa League quarter finals.

La Dea edged Sporting Lisbon 2-1 earlier this week to secure a 3-2 aggregate victory in the Round of 16 tie.

The visitors opened the scoring but second-half goals from Ademola Lookman and Gianluca Scamacca ensured a comfortable win for Atalanta.

Meanwhile, AC Milan eased past Slavia Prague on Thursday to claim an emphatic 7-3 aggregate triumph.

They are set to meet their Serie A rivals Roma who lost 1-0 at Brighton & Hove Albion but ended up winning the tie 4-1 following their emphatic success in Italy.

As a football fan, you can watch all these Europa League matches live on TV from the comfort of your homes.

Who will reach the semi finals?

Atalanta face the toughest test against Liverpool who are currently flying in the Premier League this season.

The Reds are looking to win all four available trophies this campaign as they want to make Jurgen Klopp’s final season memorable.

La Dea’s domestic form doesn’t suggest that they can claim an upset victory against Liverpool, who have already won the Carabao Cup, to make it to the semis.

The other two Italian outfits AC Milan and Roma will meet each other in the Europa League quarter finals.

The Rossoneri are sitting second in the Serie A table, albeit an incredible 16 points behind the leaders Inter Milan.

However, they are expected to prevail over Roma due to their superior squad quality, even though the Yellow and Reds have seen a resurgence in form under Daniele De Rossi following the sacking of Jose Mourinho.

When are the Europa League quarter finals, semi finals and final?

– Quarter finals: 11 & 18 April

– Semi finals: 2 & 9 May

– Final: 22 May
