Inter Milan’s road to the Champions League final

Inter Milan outclassed Barcelona to reach their second Champions League final in three seasons. 

However, they were made to work really hard by their Catalan rivals to seal their place in the showpiece at the Allianz Arena on May 31, which fans can watch through live online streams.

Inter made a stunning start in the San Siro encounter after the first meeting ended 3-3 in Spain. 

But Barca made an excellent comeback in the second-half and looked to have won after Raphinha put them ahead in the 87th-minute for the first time in the tie. 

However, Francesco Acerbi netted a stoppage-time equaliser to force extra-time, and substitute Davide Frattesi struck a 99th winner to send his team into the Champions League final. 

Simone Inzaghi’s Inter were regarded as favourites to go deep into the tournament from the start. And in line with the expectations, they did very well in the league phase, losing just one of their eight matches to finish level on points with Barcelona and Arsenal. 

The Nerazzurri comfortably beat Feyenoord in the round of 16. They took control of the tie by coming away with a 2-0 success from the Stadion Feijenoord. 

And though the Dutch outfit showed some fighting spirit in the second-leg, the Serie A giants cruised into the next round with a 4-1 aggregate victory. 

Things were not as easy for Inzaghi’s men in the quarter-finals against Bayern Munich, despite their 2-1 triumph at the Allianz Arena. 

Harry Kane scored early in the second-half to level the tie, before strikes from Martinez and Benjamin Pavard put the visitors back in control. 

Eric Dier’s 76th-minute header sparked hopes of a Bayern comeback, but the Nerazzurri held on to win the tie by a 4-3 aggregate score.
